(Not the best post.. in fact, just a spurt of the moment.. in a badly written kind of way..)

"Gudmorning 'tay!" the sardine greeted his father. "Kakaiba po ang alon ngayong umaga ah.."
"Oo nga eh.." Marlon was busy wagging the pythoplanktons from his gills on their breakfast plates.
His mother, Cora, had a sweet voice, even early in the morning. "Mahirap na, baka magka.. N1N1 ba yun?"
The ruthless pollution that had defiled their area was not always ruinous.
Nino couldn't answer. Or rather, he shouldn't. Stillness filled the old truck tire that housed the family. They ate their planktons in silence. And it was painful, the calmness, but it helped them prepare for the long trip ahead of them without much natter.
It was summer, and the sardines knew they had to migrate northward. Of course, the fishermen knew of this too. In fact, they were all set for coming of the fishes.Perhaps, there was truly something peculiar about the waves that morning.
The sardines were caught along with a few hundred other fishes. Some who were lucky enough to evade the grasp of the fishing nets returned home and stayed for the rest of the summer. The others who were caught, however, were brought aground. Delivered. Processed. Sold. And finally eaten. Sardinas for breakfast. Yum-yum! Their cans were disposed of. And, ironically, thrown back into the vastness of the sea.
